Both relate to COE, but they serve different people in different situations.

How is PQP calculated?



LTA takes the 3-month moving average of all successful COE bids in each category, rounded to the nearest dollar and published monthly.

Is PQP the same as the COE price I see in the news?



No. News COE prices are from open bidding. PQP is a separate smoothed average used only for renewals — it tends to be more stable.

Can I bid openly instead of paying PQP to renew?



No. Renewals are always at the prevailing PQP. Open bidding is only for new vehicle registrations.

What category is my car?



Cat A is up to 1,600cc or 97kW. Cat B is above those thresholds. Cat C covers goods vehicles and buses. Cat D is motorcycles.

When is PQP updated each month?



After the second COE bidding exercise each month, typically in the third or fourth week.

Our warranty covers up to 165 point checks — just like what you’d expect from an authorised dealer. Here’s the breakdown:

Engine & Transmission



In the event of mechanical or electrical failure, we cover:

Cylinder block, cylinder head, cylinder head gasket
Crankcase, crankshaft vibration dampers
Oil pan, oil pressure switch and oil filter casing that are connected with the oil circuit (excluding joints and gaskets)
Fly wheel and drive pulley with toothed rim
Camshaft belt respectively camshaft drive chain with clamping device and tension/ reversing pulley
Mechanical parts of the suction pipe
Turbocharger with control unit, rotary engine casing
If the scheduled maintenance intervals for the camshaft belt / camshaft drive chain with peripheral parts had not been kept, the said components will not be covered under this Policy.
