Car Tips

It's another car wash review episode with tomo!
Today, we're going to unlock one of our favourite hidden gems located in Kaki Bukit - Quantum Detailing!
The owners of Quantum Detailing are car enthusiasts themselves, and what really impressed us was their no-nonsense, thorough approach in their car wash. We had high praise for this car wash (not sponsored).
Overall, the booking process was smooth and easy. We made an online booking on their website. Timeslots are usually available from 11am till 5pm, depending on which session you opt for, it takes around 1 hour 30 minutes.

The outlet was in blue paint, which was very eye-catching and stood out from the rest of the car washes there.
We were surprised to find out that there was only one guy mending the shop, but we soon found out why.
We arrived early and explored the place a bit. At the back left corner of the workshop, we found a small but air-conditioned waiting lounge with comfortable sofa seats and charging cables, which was great.
For this week, we brought our car wash giveaway winner, Lewis, to wash his Alpha Romeo Giulia. The car wash began almost immediately (~2 mins waiting time) when he arrived.

The car body itself wasn't too dirty, but the car rims were so dusty they had lost their shine. The car's interior was a little dusty, and the carpets of the car also had small pieces of white paper and dirt.
We opted for their Quantum Enhanced Wash package, which was $80 for a 1 hour 30 mins wash. View package details
The car underwent 8 steps during the wash. He started with an interior vacuum, followed by a rims cleaning, a pre-rinse, snow foam wash, gentle scrubbing of the entire car, water wax, blow-dry and a wipe down of the car.
Quantum Detailing impressed us, especially since just one person handled the entire wash. He was completely immersed in his work, focusing on every detail, which we were quite amazed with.
Even for the rims, different brushes were used for different sections. And instead of wiping the car down with a cloth, he blew dry the entire car to avoid any micro scratches. He did used a cloth eventually, but only for tricky spots like the door edges, the fuel cap and boot edges that were less prone to scratches.
He might not be very chatty, which may come across as a downside for some, but you can trust that he takes his work very seriously.
A few plus points to add was the snow foam wash, which was thick (thick is good cause it loosens dirt and grime, and forms a protective layer between the dirt and the car's surface, so when it's wiped or rinsed, there's less risk of scratches)
At the end of the car wash, the car body was gleaming against the light and the rims were restored to its original glory. We thought Lewis' car already pretty clean to begin with... but after this wash, it dawned upon us how a proper car wash really makes a huge difference (Again, not sponsored).
Overall, we give it a 9.5/10. Hands down one of the best car washes we experienced.
They were meticulous and thorough in cleaning the rims and the interior of the car, and the water wax had an immediate water beading effect that made the car super water repellent.
We highly recommend this car wash! If you’d like to experience first hand on Quantum Detailing’s car wash, you can reach out to them here!
