COE Prices Rise Yet Again

SINGAPORE: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums for April's 2nd bidding was released at the latest tender exercise on Wednesday (17 Apr).

Premiums for Cat A rose by $5,010 from $89,000 to $94,010 for smaller cars below 1600cc.

Cat B rose slightly by $667, remaining still in the 6-digit figure range from $101,334 to $102,001.

COE Prices Not Showing Signs of Falling

Cat B prices have been consistently above 100k this month.

Not only that, Cat A prices are also closely hitting 6-digits, currently at $94,010.

Does this mean that 'cut-and-fill' move to tackle the supply trough of COEs available has shown to be limited in its effectiveness?

Can We Expect Prices to Fall Soon?

COE prices for this month has risen across the board, except for Cat D (motorcycle), with a $10 fall in price from $9,980 to $9,990.

At this point, the rise and fall of COE prices are no longer predictable.

But of course, we'll crossing our fingers that we may see a fall for the next bidding results.
