Be cool, or be gone.
That's really the essence of the code of conduct. But that said, do read on.
At Cult of Cars, we are committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all our members. Our Code of Conduct outlines the principles and guidelines that every member is expected to uphold while participating in Cult of Cars activities and engaging with fellow members.
By joining our community, you agree to abide by the following rules:
- Respect: Treat all members with respect, dignity, and courtesy, regardless of their age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic background, or car ownership status. Discrimination, harassment, or any form of disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. Remember that when chatting in the community, everyone is listening, so respect the community itself, by keeping conversations relevant to everyone, and taking private conversations, private.
- Safety: Prioritize safety while driving and participating in Cult of Cars activities. Follow traffic rules and regulations, drive responsibly, and respect the safety and well-being of fellow members, pedestrians, and other road users.
- Collaboration: Work together with fellow members to create a positive, supportive, and engaging environment. Do your best to encourage each other, share experiences, and contribute to Cult of Car's growth and development.
- Integrity: Be honest and transparent in your interactions with other members and Cult of Cars partners. Do not engage in fraudulent activities, misrepresent your identity or qualifications, or misuse Cult of Cars resources for personal gain.
- Compliance: Abide by all Cult of Cars rules, regulations, and guidelines, as well as local laws and regulations. Members found to be in violation of these rules may face disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of membership.
- Communication: Keep communication with fellow members and Cult of Cars representatives respectful, professional, and constructive. Avoid using offensive language, making personal attacks, or engaging in disruptive behavior. Avoid any condescending or patronizing forms of communication.
- Privacy: Respect the privacy of fellow members. Unless there is a good reason or a discussion led to it, avoid private messaging other members in an unsolicited manner. Ask for permission from the member first. Do not share personal information or contact details without explicit permission. Any form of stalking, harassment, or unwanted contact is strictly prohibited.
- No Harassment: Do not harass, whether privately or publicly, another member.
- No Shouting: Please be nice and respectful to everyone, and avoid online shouting. That includes entire messages in all caps.
- No Touting: Do not tout any products or services. If a community member has a need, and you have a product or service that helps or solves the need, by all means please share. But do not tout, please.
- No Trolling: Do not troll, and do not make comments or remarks that insult or attack other members, or otherwise deliberately set out to annoy other members or disrupt conversations. Any of these in any form will not be tolerated.
If any questions come up about the Code of Conduct, please reach out to any of the admins. We have to say this in the interest of clarity: Any breaches may lead to a coffee session/suspension/kick/ban based on the severity of the breach.
That said, Cult of Cars is a place defined by mutual respect and maturity, but it is also a safe and reasonable place. We are committed to continuing to safeguard this community as a safe space for all. Do help us in keeping it a place you want to be in.
Together we can create a thriving and enjoyable community for all Cult of Cars members. Your cooperation and commitment to these principles is what is going to make a difference. We thank you for being a part of Cult of Cars, and we treasure having you.
Let's continue to celebrate our shared passion for cars and driving.
